Why Choose Virtual Puppy Training?

There are many advantages to virtual puppy training. Besides the flexibility it offers, virtual training is effective at addressing all kinds of behavior, from puppy biting to leash reactivity.

What are the biggest advantages to virtual training?

Many dogs are excited about a new person in their space – and this makes it really hard for them to learn or settle down when the humans are being boring and need to focus on talking and not training. Another advantage is that we’ll be able to meet more frequently, making it easier to stay on track and achieve your goals.

Is virtual training effective?

Yes, virtual training can be just as effective as in-person training. In some cases, it’s better! Most dogs learn better at home with fewer distractions.

Don’t you need to see my dog do the thing I want to work on?

No, we usually don’t! We can determine why the behavior happens and how it is reinforced by talking with you about what’s going on. In many cases we don’t want to produce the behavior on purpose (e.g., guarding a food bowl). In other cases, we may ask you to send us a video of the behavior if you happen to capture it occurring.

How do we meet?

When you book a session, you’ll get a Zoom link for our meeting. If you’d like to use a different platform, such as FaceTime, we can do that too!

What kind of technology do I need to do virtual training?

You can use your computer, tablet, or smartphone – as long as they have a camera and can connect to the internet. We’ll send you some tips for setting things up before our virtual meeting.
